Costa Rica Retreat

Retreat campaign for Private retreat

Project approach

This retreat campaign was built around connection, landscape and the experience of stepping away from everyday routines. The footage included group activities, private moments and environmental scale, requiring an edit that felt transformative without relying on vague wellness language.

I shaped the film around observable change. Arrival and orientation lead into participation, shared experience and reflection. Warm color and a gradual musical build create emotional lift while preserving the natural behavior of the people on screen.

The final piece gives the retreat a grounded identity and a reusable campaign story. Rather than promising transformation directly, it lets place, participation and human interaction make the case.

Editorial decisions

Structure

The story moves from arrival to participation, connection and reflection.

Performance

Natural interactions were protected so the film never feels over-directed.

Emotion

Music, pacing and environmental sound create lift without forcing a testimonial tone.

Challenge and solution

Retreat films often depend on abstract claims that the footage cannot prove. I focused on visible behaviors and specific moments, allowing the audience to understand the value through participation, attention and connection.

Show the experience honestly, then let structure create the emotional lift.

The result is an emotionally clear campaign film that feels aspirational and believable. It provides the retreat with a story that can introduce the experience before a sales conversation begins.
